Top 5 Classic James Bond Cars

The latest Bond car for the film “Quantum of Solace” is the Aston Martin DBS. Low-profile 20inch car tyres, smooth lines and curves, flared wheel arches and an overstated front grill; it is the epitomy of British cool with which to save the world.

The Aston Martin’s 6.0-litre V12 engine has a distinctive throaty roar that is capable of 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 191mph.

This has to rate as one of Bond’s best looking cars but to compare I have compiled a list of 5 other classic Bond cars:

1) Recently voted the most iconic car of all time, the Aston Martin DB5 appeared in ’Thunderball’, ’Goldfinger’ and more recently ’Casino Royal’.

It was originally introduced in 1963. Its film debut was in the 1964 Goldfinger, starring alongside Sean Connery. Its distinctive silver livery, streamlined bodywork and large front grill was new for its time.

However the aesthetically pleasing body hid a vast array of lethal surprises to confound even the most troublesome of Bond’s enemies. You may remember a scene in Goldfinger where one rear brake light spurted oil onto the road. And the other released triple-spiked nails to burst the car tyres of the pursuing villains.

Other clever features devised by Q included a revolving licence plate, an exhaust that expelled smoke-screen canisters and wheel hubs that revealed knives to slash car tyres.

2) The white Lotus Elite used by Roger Moore in 1977 ’The Spy Who Loved Me’ surprised everyone with its ability to be driven underwater.

In an attempt to escape a pursuing helicopter the Lotus was driven off a pier into the sea. At the time you would have thought this was the end for the car. But with typical Bond creativity the car tyres retract and it was transformed into an operational submarine, complete with fins and a periscope. The persistent helicopter soon meets its demise with a missile fired from the car beneath the water.

3) The 1987 film ’The Living Daylights’ saw a return to the Aston Martin. This Aston Martin V8 had a powerful engine to compliment its macho looks. It used a fuel injection system that replaced carburetion. Due to the compact nature of this new technology the car could be designed with a flat bonnet, unlike the curved bonnets of its predecessors.

As with any Bond car there were a number of clever additions including self retractable spikes in the car tyres for extra grip on icy surfaces, lasers behind the front hubcaps and missile launchers behind the headlights.

4) It was bold move not to use a British manufactured car in the 1999 ’The World Is Not Enough’ but BMW Z8 soon won over the Bond fan. Its retro styling and red leather interior was backed up by a 400-horsepower V8 engine that had a top speed of 158mph.

Hidden accessories included missile launchers in the side vents and a windscreen that displayed important data. The car could be operated remotely using the key chain.

5) The Aston Martin was back in the 2002 ’Die Another Day’ starring Pierce Brosnan. This time it was the V12 Vanquish, sometimes referred to as ’a DB9 on steroids’.

The classic styled V12 nearly met its match when confronted with the villain’s Jaguar XKR. But the front mounted Gatling gun, rocket launchers in the doors and bombs in the boot soon put paid to that.

Two other clever features, which eventually won the battle for Bond, were the car’s ability to become invisible and the spikes hidden in the car tyres. The latter helped the car drive up an ice wall to avoid the fast approaching enemy, causing the Jaguar to have a unceremonious demise at the bottom of a lake.

As wonderful as the Bond cars are, thankfully features like spikes in car tyres have not become common place on our modern vehicles. If they ever do be sure to consult a specialist before changing a punctured car tyre.

Unforgettable Television Sports Cars From The 1970s

In the seventies it seems that most shows were to an extent, known for the cars that the stars drove in them as well as the stars themselves. Some of the shows you will find listed here, the cars in the shows were even known to receive their own fan mail. The weekly hero of the action packed T.V. show was almost assuredly driving a fast and expensive sports car. Most people tend to think they used the same car in every episode but usually there was a whole team of identical cars that followed the stars through the series.

See how many of the following cars you can remember from the seventies:

1. Gran Torino on Starsky and Hutch.

This was everyone’s favorite Muscle Car it seemed, at least the most recognizable.
The paint job (red with that big, white stripe) and the style prompted Ford to add it to their line. Gran Torino enthusiasts still get together to show off their rides to this day!

2. Do you remember Dan Tanna and his 1957 Thunderbird from Vegas?

In this program Robert Urich played a cop in Las Vegas named Dan Tanna who just loved cruising around the strip in his T-Bird. It was a bright and shiny red and was actually two identical cars used that they switched back and forth when taping the show. The character started out with a corvette but ended up with his signature T-Bird instead

3. Who can forget that bumbling detective Columbo and his beat up, old Peugeot? Well it can be categorized as a sports car technically, but it sure didn’t look like one or act like one. But Columbo and his Peugeot was a match made in heaven with their unkempt appearance. Some folks in Ohio ended up with the car after the show was cancelled but they revived it for the Columbo movie in the 80’s.

4. The golden Firebird Espirit of Detective Rockford is another classic. James Garner played Detective Rockford and always seemed to be having financial troubles but he could always afford to drive around in his signature Firebird.

5. 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado from Mannix. Another one of those great detective shows. Joe Mannix was played by actor Mike Connors and it was a very customized vehicle indeed and one that most people remember. Mannix had secret compartments all over the Toronado and it was a little more high tech then many cars of its era. In later episodes Mannix had an array of cars at his disposal but the 1966 Toronado seem to make the most impact.

Each one of these cars is memorialized by film. If you asked anyone about the 70’s famous cars undoubtedly they would mention one or more of these cars. Of course there were a lot of others but these five seem to be the most likely to come up in a conversation about the era. After all they certainly did seem to steal the show right out from under the human stars.

Are You Struggling To Keep Your Business Afloat

Do you have a business that once thrived and you’re now struggling with the competition around you and are now struggling to keep your business going or have you recently started a business and your still struggling to get the business off the ground. If so you may need the help of Business Angels or Venture Capitalists.

Most new businesses struggle for the first 5years for reasons including: -

Cash Flow – having actual cash in the bank is always an issue for businesses.

I am too busy to deal with it now – new business owners usually think that a task that needs doing can be done later and keep putting it off. An example of this is putting supplier invoices on the back burner – doing this will result in cash flow problems.

Blinkers – Don’t judge people by how they look when they walk into your shop serve all your customers the same with a smile on your face.

Customer Complacency – you may become good friends with your customers but you have to remember you have customers and suppliers. To keep your customers you have to work hard as you may lose them to your competition.

Competition Complacency – your competition will always be trying to be better than you by plotting new ideas. If you’re the better business and they’re the wounded business they will fight hard to become the best business.

Bad Employees – in any business you need great employees who are enthusiastic and well trained. Bad employees will put off your customers.

Flexibility – is a must within any business, if you run a coffee shop and you don’t serve cappuccino and a customer asks for it see what you can do and adapt your menu of coffee to your customers needs.

Location, Location, Location – if you have a lovely boutique in a back street where no customers can find you let alone see you your more likely to have business problems. If your boutique was in a high street you’re more likely to get customers walking in.

Bad Planning – always have a good business plan behind you, what you want to achieve in 2-5years what your goals are in the future and make sure your business plan is water tight and there are no errors within it.

Over Expansion – you’ve recently started your business and it’s going well so you decide to expand. If you try to expand too quickly your more likely to sink not swim.

No Website – so many customers know use the Internet now and will find a business there then visit it if there’s a store. So make sure you have a website and that you promote it well.

Putting all your eggs in one basket – if you determine the risks that may happen you will have a plan on how to fix these problems. Thinking your business will have no problems along the way will make it harder for you in the long run. Don’t always rely on one customer, if that customer pulls out you will be in money problems.

Insufficient Funds – always make sure you have sufficient funds before you start up your business. Allowing yourself time to arrange funding for your business is a good idea, if you haven’t got enough money wait a couple of months until you have.

Entrepreneurial Stubbornness – if you are a entrepreneur have you felt like you have an idea but can’t get it out of your head this can be called entrepreneurial burnout. If your idea has faults fix them but if your idea is good and you don’t see any problems leave it be don’t keep changing it.

Managing Your Business Through A Recession

You have been running a business and you’re doing well. However, the economy begins to falter, and recession looms. What can you do to maintain your market share and your income? It is during a recession that your income has to be at its most stable, so how do you achieve that while everyone around you starts to panic?

80/20 Rule

First, you must focus on your core business, and make sure that you remain focused on the products and services that are making you most money. This is where the 80/20 principle has to be strictly applied. You know the theory: 80% of your income comes from 20% of your customers, or 80% of your wastage or scrap comes from 20% of your products.

Focus on your customers first and waste second. You have to identify the 80% and 20% factors so that you can plan your cost cutting strategy going forwards.

Change Your Product Mix

However, also keep in mind that during a recession people sacrifice luxuries, and this might mean some readjusting of your business focus from luxury goods to essentials, from expensive products to their cheaper equivalents. What you should do, therefore, is to diversify into products that would be more practical at times of crisis.

Marketing

Guerrilla marketing tactics also work better in recessions, and you have to get the maximum benefit from the resources that you have. That means negotiating as hard as possible for marketing and advertising, and making best use of what marketing is carried out. You cannot just stop marketing your products or services, but make sure that the expenditure you do make brings as much return as possible, and pause the advertising campaigns that focus on building a brand.

Retain Existing Customers

Although it seems perverse during a recession, discounts to customers can often help to maintain the loyalty of your more important customers. Some of your competitors might try to take advantage of financial squeezes to wrestle your customers from you, and this is one way of preventing them. What you must not do is bad-mouth your competitors, because nothing is more certain to lose you business than that.

This is a good time to strengthen bonds with existing customers and clients and who knows: you might be able to help them through these difficult times, and then they will show their appreciation to you once the good times come back.

Reduce Labor Costs

Staff is another area where savings should be made. It’s not easy to let staff go, but sometimes essential. You could convert some full timers to part-time contracts temporarily, and retain the brightest and best workers full time. It might have an adverse effect in the short term but it will increase your chances of surviving any economic downturn.

Cut Down on Waste

Budgeting of consumables is another area that can be tackled, and even paper supplies mount up over a period of time. Calculate savings in terms of annual rather than daily. OK, you might only save 50 daily, but that is 18,000 annually, in what ever currency you work with. The same is true of time. Reduce the number of hours worked in overtime and manage your staff better so that you still get the work done.

There are many similar savings to be made that in themselves contribute only a little, but when taken together over the course of a year can equate to considerable cash saving. Do that and also focus on your core business, or that part of it that is most profitable, and your business stands a better chance of withstanding anything the average recession can throw at you.

Should You Buy A Hybrid Car

A hybrid car is a specifically planned and made vehicle that mixes the strength of the conventional gasoline motor and electricity. In the past, many have referred to hybrid cars as electric cars.

Technically, a hybrid automobile can not be classified as just electric because only about 40% of the energy use of the vehicle is from electric sources, in the form of collected electricity in batteries.

As oil costs continue to rise with depleting supplies and rapid expansion in demand, all economies globally are experiencing the setbacks of the need to limit high use of fuel.

For a long time, research and improvement has been vigorously finding ways on how struggles in regards to very high demand could finally be abolished. With the invention of the hybrid automobile, car owners and drivers all over the world are now manifesting comfort that yes there is hope.

Though the wide use of hybrid cars provides hope that in the future, when oil sources finally and fully run out, the transportation industry will not experience the drawback. Yes, at this time, driving a hybrid car could result in huge savings for the car owner.

At least, the overall usage of oil could be significantly reduced. Research continues to be ongoing so that in the near future, further more efficient versions of the modern hybrid car can be developed and launched into the market.

However, just like many other predecessor technologies, there are many problems to owning and using a hybrid automobile. Many people hope that in the upcoming months or years, people can finally realize a better and more useful hybrid vehicle. Here are the most realistic and understandable of those frustrations.

If the hybrid automobile gets into possible accidents and collisions in the future, there is a possibility that the incident would be more tragic. A hybrid automobile traditionally and usually has high voltage cables within it.

Because hybrid cars are still not quite rampant and regular, purchasing spare parts may be very challenging, if not impossible. In addition, costs of spare parts can be rather costly.

Any hybrid automobile needs to allocate a significant amount of space for batteries. Because the hybrid automobile needs batteries to make it work and for the use of some if its functions, the total weight of the automobile gets greater and greater.

Because the hybrid vehicle technology is still a fairly new automobile technology, it is just certain that the automobile is costly. On the average, a hybrid car these days costs more than the standard and typical automobiles by approximately $3,000 to $6,000.

That is just an average and is expected with the high demand for the car as more buyers get thrilled about it and manufacturers continue to make the automobile models on a restricted ability.

There are several states in the United States and some other global governments globally that are charging additional fees and other charges for possession and registration.

A regular and even basic hybrid automobile is composed of a very sophisticated automobile system. Thus, ordinary mechanics likely would not have the necessary and required skill set and understanding to attend to any technical requirement for repair of any hybrid automobile.

Article Marketing Booster: It’s All About The Summary

So you’ve finished the content for your article. You are ready to start your article marketing campaign. So now you’ll be needing an article outline also known as the article summary.

But what must you ideally put in your article summary to obtain-bring it the best results from your article submission?Should it be an abstract or a teaser to the article? Keep in mind that the puprose of your article outline is to lure a reader or your article to read the rest of it. It’s similar to a sales page but for your article. It will , in many cases, make the difference to whether your article gets read or not read.

Here is what you would ideally want to be in your article outline. First you’ll require the article outline to be about two to 7 sentences in length. Second, you will want there to be a mention of the emotional benefits that this article brings to your reader, talk right to your target reader’s interests. Third, you will want to include at least 4 to 7 keywords that are related to your article subject. It’d be a brilliant idea to use keyword research tools to determine the best keywords to use, you will want keywords that may help folks looking, find your article. By trying the right keyphrases you can simply increase the amount of times your article is found, and the number of times it is read.

Now let us go on to chat about what shouldn’t be in your article outline.

One, you do not want to copy the title of your article in your article outline. 2, there is not any need to use your author name in the outline of your article. Three, there isn’t any need and you need to not put your domain name in the outline ( it will appear too promotional ). 4, you may wish to leave out any self-promotion. Remember when we debated above about making your outline like a sales page, this didn’t mean to sell your product in the outline, but rather to sell the reader on reading the article. So keep the summary containing article promotion and not self promotion. 4, never use more than 2 paragraphs or 14 sentences in your article outline, or it’ll simply bee too big and no one will bother to read.

Distributors retail and wholesale products for a parent company, and recruit other distributors to do the same. Many products are sold through MLM, and can literally be any type of product. Casio Databank Watches Are Still In Business

Casio Databank Watches are very capable wristwatches that continue to sell well even in our globe of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and smartphones. Other than that, we all know Casio for their watches, and such brilliantly created watches grabbed the attention of thousands, maybe even millions. Casio watches carry on to manufacture their impressive watches, databanks, and more gadgets. Now using the Casio databank watch we can do all the calculations needed but on the go, or wherever we might need quick reference. Thanks to Casio, buyers are happy with their additional strength and top quality products that also continue to please and satisfy buyers year in and year out.

Originally released within the 1980s, they provided an electronic means of data storage that was greatly appreciated in an age before PDAs and smartphones made feasible the informational over-glut of our times. Casio Databank watches soon became much a lot more than just electronic notepads, nonetheless, with even one model doing double-duty as a replacement universal control for cable boxes, television sets, and videocassette players! Different other versions kept track of time across diverse time zones or gave days with the week in up to thirteen various languages – all pretty neat feats for the early ’80s.

There may possibly have been technical issues as there always will be with new products simply because of their debut to the world and such issues are far more inevitable than we may possibly think it to be. But Casio Databank watches sell well to this extremely day, with even a retro-chick model to commemorate their nearly three decades of service that’s been created to look just like an original Databank, with the wild fluorescent colors well-liked at the time and a basic little black and white Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen.

Databanks are very clever devices even today, but back then they were incredibly innovative, offering nearly comic book-like capabilities. But then again, that’s to be expected given their pedigree: Casio had long been a pioneer in consumer electronics with a history of technological firsts to its credit. Beginning using the world’s first-ever compact all-electric calculator in 1957, the business has since gone on to produce the world’s first graphing calculator, the world’s initial 1.3 megapixel digital camera, as well as the world’s initial digital camera with an LCD screen. Not bad for a business founded to manufacture such gizmos as cigarette lighter rings! (Yes, rings – as in, worn on the finger: after all, it’s Japan, a place that abounds in gadgets.)

And so it was that Casio Databank watches were technological marvels in their time. Casio very first produced wristwatches back in 1974, debuting to excellent success during a period when watchmakers had just begun incorporating digital technologies into their designs. Casio also helped to reform well-liked perceptions from the wristwatch, which until then was seen as being more a fashion accessory than a practical tool – and only for timekeeping purposes if tools at all. Casio also helped to change common feelings on Japanese goods, particularly electronic items, which had been believed to of inferior top quality. But now, along while using Pathfinder and G Shock series, Casio’s Databanks have further cemented the company’s reputation into the 21st Century.

Finally, A Breitling Designer Watch Produced Especially For Divers

When choosing luxury designer watches, many fine brand names come to mind. As many know, Breitling has been synonymous with quality for well over a century, and are most noted for making mechanical aviation watches with big faces. What’s news is that latterly they recently introduced a quartz model – and one seemingly directed more at professional deep sea divers! The Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph was Breitling’s latest offering at last year’s Basel watchmakers’ convention. This famous yearly watchmakers’ trade fair saw the company take an assertive approach towards what could be called “the diving demographic,” maybe hoping to penetrate it the way they have the market of fliers ( and, let’s face it, of aviator-wannabes and posers ). This review will take a quick look at this latest model’s key selling points and determine whether it’s worth the almost three grand American!

As far as sturdiness goes the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is built to last. It’s a extraordinarily rugged telephone that may take some punishment and still be functional.First things first the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is water resistant. Many designer watches in truth are water proof but the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph will still run even if it is submerged three hundred feet ( one thousand meters ) underwater. Most watches will simply cease to function due to the extraordinary pressure. Breitling allegedly has found the way to guarantee the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is functional under such cruel conditions. The watch housing comprises curved sapphire crystals and brushed titanium. These materials allow the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph to have an anti-reflective surface. For hardcore saturation diving the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph has a helium release valve built in too. For optimal viewing in low light scenarios the bezel is engraved and has a luminescent marker. The Breitling logo is chicly placed on the back of the case.

Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph watch dials are available in blue, grey, and yellow. The date is handily displayed next to 3 o’clock. To round off the customization of this designer watch one can get the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph with the pro divers leather strap or the titanium bracelet.

Of specific interest is the Super Quartz movement, which is ten times more accurate than the standard found in common quartz watches. Such accuracy is claimed to be achieved by making the movement delicate to the changes in temperature that cause most quartz modules to lose or gain time. Being therefore thermo compensated means the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is, in effect, self-correcting. There’s a regatta timer, as well as the standard chronograph feature-set, for yacht races which need measurement in ten minute scales.

One of the more prominent things about the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph is the magnetically activated push pieces. These push pieces permit the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph to be totally sealed against the elements and foreign damage. Anyone ( deep sea divers mainly ) who are wanting a durable and robust watch will certainly benefit from buying the Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Chronograph.
